Since 2004, the month of October is designated as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in the US. This year marks 20 years of observing this month to raise awareness about cybersecurity.
In 2023, the campaign message of the National Cybersecurity Alliance and the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency is “Secure our World”. In 2023, these four key behaviors will be the focus throughout October:
- Enabling multi-factor authentication
- Using strong passwords and a password manager
- Updating software
- Recognizing and reporting phishing
